About The Position

Shorewood Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a full-time inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide specialized psychiatric care to patients. The role involves diagnosing and treating mental illnesses through psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication.

The psychiatrist provides clinical services at the facility, evaluates patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders, reviews medical information to assess stability and make recommendations, and treats patients or directs their treatment. The role also includes completing care-plan and service documentation, maintaining confidential records, and ensuring compliance and billing follow facility policies and procedures.

Shorewood Behavioral Health Hospital is a 120-bed acute-care facility in Madison, Wisconsin, serving adolescents, adults, and seniors with mental health and substance use challenges. Its services include partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programming, and electroconvulsive therapy.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO).
• Licensed in the state where the facility operates.
• Board certification in psychiatry.
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and in accordance with regulations in the state where the practitioner will work.

• One or more years of post-graduate practice experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to patients at the facility.
• Practice in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations and corporate and facility policies and procedures.
• Review patients’ medical information to ensure medical stability and provide medical recommendations.
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
• Treat patients or direct their treatment using psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, and document services and information in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidential documentation and ensure compliance and billing in accordance with policies and procedures.
