About The Position
Embark on a fulfilling career journey at San Marcos Treatment Center, a distinguished psychiatric residential treatment facility with roots dating back to 1940. Founded by Bert and Lorine Brown, the center has evolved into a leading institution, dedicated to assisting young patients in overcoming psychiatric and behavioral challenges. Nestled between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of Central Texas, our 212-bed facility offers a medical model of care within a seclusion-free environment. This is a full-time role focusing on the residential treatment of children and adolescents (ages 6-17), with patients seen once weekly. An Independent Contractor arrangement is preferred, offering professional autonomy, but a W-2 arrangement with a robust benefits package is also available. There is minimal weekend/call coverage (phone only), promoting work-life balance.
Requirements
- MD/DO degree from an accredited program is required.
- Board Certification (B/C) or eligibility (B/E) in General Psychiatry is required.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Texas or the ability to obtain a Texas medical license.
- Must meet all credentialing criteria required by participating physicians.
Nice To Haves
- B/C or B/E in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry strongly preferred.
