About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Psychiatrist - Addiction Services to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan. Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Psychiatry.
  • Active New York State Medical License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care for patients in the outpatient addiction clinic and opioid treatment program.
  • Diagnose substance use disorders and non-substance related addiction disorders and recommend treatment considering levels of care criteria.
  • Assist medical leadership with Quality Assurance and Process Improvement projects.
  • Teach and train fellows, residents, and medical students rotating on addiction services, including preparing didactic presentations.
  • Order and manage medications for addiction treatment, including for opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder.
  • Monitor the progress of individuals in treatment and review the appropriateness of continued treatment and level of care.
  • Contribute to the completion of Treatment Plans and Utilization Reviews.
  • Assist with the orientation of new physicians and staff in addiction services.
