About The Position

Emory University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist with experience or interest in treating substance use to join the outpatient faculty at the Emory Addiction Center. The position focuses on adolescents age 12 and older with co-occurring substance use disorders, with flexibility to divide clinical time between adolescent and adult services. The role includes joint faculty appointments at Emory University School of Medicine and Emory Healthcare, with opportunities in clinical care, education, and program development. Nursing, intake scheduling, and case-management support are provided. The psychiatrist will work with a multidisciplinary team specializing in substance use disorder treatment. Clinical outpatient addiction care, teaching, and collaboration are priorities; research or education funds may offset time devoted to these activities. Faculty are encouraged to supervise residents and fellows. Proportional on-call coverage averaging four weeks per year is expected, with cross-coverage available for vacations and conferences. Office space is at the Emory Addiction Center on the Emory Wesley Woods Campus, which has on-site parking and lab and urine drug-screen testing. Appointment rank is open and will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and accomplishments. The position is generally performed in person, though remote-work days may be granted at departmental discretion.
