About The Position
The Psychiatric Technician II is a member of a team dedicated to providing high-quality care and services to patients. The role supports patient-focused care in the inpatient psychiatric unit by helping maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment; assisting with dietary aspects of care; facilitating communication, including answering phones; transporting patients; and assisting visitors. The Psychiatric Technician II provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with Nursing Services goals and objectives, under the guidance or direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. The role also requires expected conduct, behavior, and accountability, and supports the vision, mission, values, and balanced scorecard performance measures of MMOV Nursing Services and the unit.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in mental health.
- BLS certification required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Nice To Haves
- CNA certification is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with Nursing Services goals and objectives under the guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Provide indirect patient care in accordance with Nursing Services goals and objectives under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment.
- Assist with dietary aspects of care.
- Facilitate communication, including answering phones.
- Transport patients and assist visitors.
- Demonstrate expected conduct, behavior, and accountability.
- Support the vision, mission, values, and balanced scorecard performance measures for MMOV Nursing Services and participate in achieving unit-level objectives and measures.
