About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves providing care for adults and adolescents with various mental health diagnoses in an inpatient setting.

Requirements

• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in acute inpatient psychiatric care or similar settings.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills are essential.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Patience and an ability to maintain a calm demeanor in challenging situations.

Nice To Haves

• CPI certification preferred.
• Experience with adolescent populations is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, psychosis, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other behavioral or personality disorders.
• Conduct 15-minute patient rounds to ensure safety and monitor progress.
• Participate in therapeutic activities and assist with occupational therapy services.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including mental health technicians, social workers, and occupational therapists.
• Engage in effective de-escalation techniques and maintain a calm environment for patients.
• Assist with documentation and charting using the EPIC system.
• Provide ongoing assessment and adjustments to care plans as necessary.
