About The Position

FamilyCare is searching for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for our behavioral health department.

Requirements

• Registered nurse with a valid West Virginia license and recognized by the WV Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
• If eligible, holds Prescriptive Authority through the WV Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses.
• PMHNP-BC

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive mental health care services.
• Perform comprehensive Psychiatric assessment. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests. Formulate diagnosis and develop a treatment plan, including ordering and/or administering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Facilitate patient education and participation in self-care. Implement systematic follow-up and evaluation of client status.
• Complete all appropriate documentation promptly according to FamilyCare Policy.
• Consult with, collaborate with or refer to other medical providers and behavioral health therapists as appropriate.
• Participate in research, educational activities, and the teaching of students, if interested.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
• Attend clinical and staff meetings.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned.
• Observe all health and safety requirements.
• Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.
• Participate in the continuous quality improvement activities of the organization.
