About The Position

Mindify Wellness and Care is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to provide psychiatric care onsite at a partner adult day care center in Cape May, New Jersey, and through telehealth to patients throughout New Jersey. Onsite availability in Cape May is required; this is not a fully remote role. The position offers an established patient caseload and referrals, administrative scheduling and coordination support, malpractice insurance coverage, a collaborative agreement, and access to a collaborating psychiatrist. Providers work with therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals and may have opportunities for professional growth as the organization expands.

The adult day care center generally operates Monday through Friday, with typical hours of 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Onsite coverage is generally needed one to three days per week. Specific days and hours are discussed according to provider availability and center needs. Telehealth appointments may be scheduled on onsite days or additional days. Flexible part-time scheduling is available.

Compensation is per completed visit: $70–$90 for initial psychiatric evaluations and $40–$60 for follow-up medication-management visits. Compensation depends on experience, credentials, qualifications, and clinical expertise. The role is offered as a 1099 independent contractor opportunity. Malpractice coverage and the collaborative agreement apply only while actively contracted with Mindify and do not extend to outside employment or private practice. Part-time or full-time W-2 opportunities may be considered in the future based on organizational needs and mutual interest.

Requirements

• Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
• Active New Jersey RN license.
• Active New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) certification.
• Current PMHNP-BC certification.
• Active DEA registration.
• Active New Jersey Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) registration.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication-management, and communication skills.
• Ability to provide onsite psychiatric services in Cape May and telehealth services to patients located in New Jersey.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience as a PMHNP is preferred; newly certified PMHNPs with relevant psychiatric experience are welcome to apply.
• Experience in outpatient behavioral health, geriatric psychiatry, telehealth, or community-based settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up medication-management visits.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric and behavioral health conditions using DSM-5-TR criteria.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications.
• Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans.
• Monitor patient progress, treatment effectiveness, and medication side effects.
• Educate patients and families about psychiatric conditions and treatment.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EMR.
• Collaborate with therapists, social workers, and other members of the treatment team.
• Conduct clinical risk assessments and address patient concerns as appropriate.
• Follow HIPAA requirements, professional standards, and organizational policies.
