Provisionally Licensed Behavior Analyst (P-LBA)

Behavioral Health Allies•Kansas City, MO

About The Position

The Provisionally Licensed Behavior Analyst (P-LBA) supports the assessment, development, implementation, and monitoring of behavior analytic services in Community Living residential settings. The position is an advanced clinical practitioner role for someone working toward independent licensure and BCBA-level competency, under the required supervision of a fully Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA/BCBA) and in accordance with BACB standards, Missouri Behavior Analyst Licensing Board requirements, DMH expectations, and BHA policies. The P-LBA maintains a clinical caseload and contributes to behavior plan development, staff training and coaching, and data-driven decision-making. In a DSP-implemented residential model, the role emphasizes training staff to implement programming, monitoring fidelity across environments, and supporting consistent clinical execution. The P-LBA may develop and recommend clinical programming, but the supervising BCBA/LBA retains final approval and oversight. All clinical work is subject to BCBA/LBA review and approval; the P-LBA has no independent clinical authority, cannot independently approve plans, and may not design treatment without supervision. The role is accountable for the quality, consistency, and implementation of behavioral services under supervision, including effective programming, staff training and support, accurate and meaningful data, and appropriate escalation of clinical concerns. It also participates in an on-call rotation and provides leadership during behavioral crises.
