About The Position

The Provisionally Licensed Behavior Analyst (P-LBA) supports the assessment, development, implementation, and monitoring of behavior analytic services in Community Living residential settings. The role maintains a clinical caseload and operates under required supervision by a fully Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA/BCBA), in accordance with BACB standards, Missouri Behavior Analyst Licensing Board requirements, DMH expectations, and BHA policies. The P-LBA develops and recommends behavior plans and clinical programming for review and approval, trains and coaches staff, and uses data to guide recommendations and decisions. Final plan approval and clinical oversight remain with the supervising BCBA/LBA. This advanced clinical practitioner role is based in a DSP-implemented residential model, with a focus on staff training, programming fidelity across environments, and consistent clinical execution. The P-LBA conducts assessments under supervision, develops Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and programs for review, monitors implementation and data, supports crisis planning, and reports concerns and recommendations to the supervising BCBA/LBA. All clinical work is subject to BCBA/LBA review and approval; the position has no independent clinical authority, plan approval authority, or authority to design treatment without supervision. The P-LBA trains DSPs and RBTs in BSP implementation, reinforcement strategies, and prompting procedures; provides hands-on coaching and feedback; and monitors consistency across staff and shifts. The role collaborates with Operations, Nursing, and Direct Care staff, supports interdisciplinary planning, and helps ensure behavioral services are dignified, person-centered, trauma-informed, least restrictive, and focused on autonomy, community participation, and functional skills. The position also participates in an on-call rotation and provides leadership during behavioral crises.
