Provider Contracting Lead Analyst, Carolinas - Cigna Healthcare - Remote
About The Position
The Provider Contracting Lead Analyst supports provider partnerships across an assigned market, helping make high-quality, affordable care more accessible. The role supports contract negotiations with ancillary providers and health systems, develops financial insights for informed decisions, and strengthens provider relationships. Working with experienced colleagues, the analyst builds contracting, analytical, and market knowledge while contributing to customer and provider value. This role leads negotiations with guidance from a manager and senior teammates, builds financial models, analyzes contract terms, and uses internal systems and processes to administer and implement agreements. It monitors provider relationships and local competition, applies knowledge of network dynamics to contracting strategy, and collaborates with internal teams and provider stakeholders to advance agreements and resolve issues. Occasional travel is required. The position is remote and may involve working at home; home internet must be cable broadband or fiber optic with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
Requirements
- Two or more years of experience in Commercial provider contracting, network operations, provider pricing, or a closely related area.
- Strong analytical skills and financial acumen, including the ability to evaluate contract terms and support data-informed decisions.
- Clear written, verbal, listening, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to take initiative, solve problems, influence outcomes, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, manage competing priorities, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to integrity, dependable follow-through, and strong customer service.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Occasional travel required.
Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Lead contract negotiations with providers, ancillary providers, and health systems, with guidance from a manager and senior teammates, to support market, network, and affordability goals.
- Build detailed financial models and analyze provider contract terms to support timely decisions and meet performance expectations.
- Use internal contracting systems and processes accurately and efficiently to support contract administration and implementation.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with current and prospective providers through clear communication and responsive service.
- Monitor provider relationships and the competitive landscape in the assigned market to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities.
- Apply knowledge of provider network dynamics to support contracting strategy, strengthen Commercial networks, and advance value-oriented arrangements.
- Partner with Provider Service, Provider Data Management, Fee Schedule Management, Legal, Network Analytics, Compliance, Sales, regional leadership, and other teams to advance agreements and resolve issues.
- Clearly communicate analyses, recommendations, progress, and risks to internal partners and provider stakeholders.
