The Prototype Build Technician is responsible for hands-on assembly, debugging, and verification of prototype battery pack systems. This role involves working with the engineering team to assemble products according to customer requirements and company goals, including highly complex prototype mechanical and electrical components. The technician will also report prototyping problems to Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME), Production Engineering, and the Launch Manager to help eliminate future production issues. Additionally, the role includes performing preventive maintenance activities to support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), leading efforts in developing and maintaining the TPM system, and supporting Maintenance Technicians as needed. Participation in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and work instruction reviews is also part of the responsibilities, along with identifying and supporting continuous improvement projects such as cost reduction and efficiency improvements. The technician will assist with specification development for machinery and equipment, support weekend and off-shift work, and travel to multiple facilities in other states. Data entry into multiple platforms is required, along with maintaining a safe and clean working environment by adhering to compliance and ergonomic guidelines, federal and state regulations, and all company policies, processes, and procedures. Predictable and reliable attendance is expected.
