About The Position

The individual selected for this position will assume all duties of Maintenance Mechanic at our Protein Conversion facility. The Company is dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure environment for our team members and visitors. To assist in achieving that goal, we conduct drug, alcohol, and background checks for all new team members post-offer and prior to the start of employment. The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility be documented for all new employees by the end of the third day of work.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work well with others, communication with others, and have good decision-making ability.
  • Desire to be part of a proactive, motivated maintenance team.
  • Must be able to lift 85 lbs.
  • Must be able to work at high heights.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and possibly have to work different shifts (day, evening, or night).
  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions.
  • Must have mechanical ability.
  • Ability to apply common sense.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work in cool temperatures (around 40 degrees).
  • Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day.
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly.
  • Must be a team player and be willing to work close to other employees at some stations. (Less than 3 feet apart.)
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Good hand and eye coordination required.
  • Must complete a successful background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Individual will be trained to do other jobs in the department.
  • At least two years’ experience.
  • Skills in mechanics, welding, and electrical fields is preferred.
  • Mechanical experience is preferred.
  • Food or production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operation and upkeep of machines in the Maintenance Dept.
  • Administrative duties and records, ie (P.M’s, logs, etc.)
  • Willing to get pipe certification in welding.
  • Willing to travel to other locations for projects.
  • Other duties as directed.
