About The Position

The Production Planning Coordinator position reports to the Plant Manager. The employee filling this position is responsible for accurate record keeping and computer information entry associated with Production Orders, reconciliation, and scheduling. Utilizing SAP, shop floor systems, and emails, the person filling this job creates daily production orders and distributes them to supervisors and load-out personnel. This role also schedules inbound appointments for raw material receiving, tracks yield, manages inventory controls, and handles sales volume scheduling. The position involves reviewing daily Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and forwarding relevant information to the appropriate manager or supervisor and load-out team members. Additionally, it includes distributing Load Sheets and pick-up times via incoming mail. The role requires adherence to policies regarding company code of business ethics and conduct, internet email usage, password protection, and company assets and information.

Requirements

  • Prior computer skills a must.
  • Must have experience with SAP, Shop Floor, Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate and/or read and understand documents such as production orders, PICK sheets, SOPS, safety rules, work rules, HACCP regulations, policy and/or procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide as needed.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • 1+ years of administrative, coordinator, or plant support experience.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Familiarity with purchasing systems and PO processes.
  • Experience tracking KPIs or working with reports.
  • Basic HR knowledge or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Creates daily production orders and distributes them to supervisors and load-out personnel.
  • Schedules inbound appointments of trucks for raw receiving.
  • Performs yield tracking and inventory controls.
  • Manages sales volume scheduling.
  • Reviews daily Standard Operating Procedures and forwards relevant information to the appropriate manager or supervisor and load-out team members.
  • Distributes Load Sheets and pick-up times.
  • Provides direct support to the Plant Manager.
  • Maintains and organizes plant logs, records, and documentation.
  • Prepares reports, summaries, and presentations as needed.
  • Assists with scheduling, meetings, and daily coordination.
  • Creates and submits purchase requisitions.
  • Receives and processes purchase orders (POs).
  • Tracks orders and follows up with vendors and internal teams.
  • Ensures accurate documentation and recordkeeping for purchasing.
  • Pulls and compiles plant reports.
  • Tracks and maintains key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assists in analyzing data and identifying trends.
  • Acts as a liaison between operations, HR, and leadership.
  • Supports plant communication and engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinates plant events, meetings, and cross-functional activities.
  • Assists with onboarding coordination and employee documentation.
  • Coordinates and schedules interviews with candidates.
  • Supports HR-related administrative tasks within the plant.
