About The Position

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services team for the Canadian public sector is seeking a senior and dynamic Professional Services Account Manager for Quebec. This role involves supporting new and existing clients in transformation projects related to technology strategy, architecture, and cloud operations. The Account Manager will work closely with clients, sales teams, and ProServe cloud architects to drive client success and business growth. The primary responsibility is to understand and define clients' business objectives by building trust, identifying relevant AWS professional services offerings, developing proposals, and obtaining validation of specifications. After project launch, the Account Manager will maintain contact with the client to ensure the achievement of agreed-upon business objectives and guarantee project success. The ideal candidate will have experience in selling services within the technology and consulting sector, particularly in the Quebec public sector, enabling them to translate technical concepts into added value for clients. They will demonstrate expertise in business development, sales methodologies, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. The AWS Professional Services Organization is a global team of experts that helps clients achieve their business objectives using the AWS Cloud, collaborating with client teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to deliver enterprise-level cloud projects. The team offers a range of services and personalized support through international expertise covering various solutions, technologies, and industries.

Requirements

  • Over 8 years of experience in technology sales, or over 10 years of experience in this field
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets through a consultative, solutions-oriented approach, or equivalent
  • Solid experience with procurement and tendering processes in the Quebec public sector
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
  • Bilingualism in French and English (oral and written communication) is required due to regular interactions with French-speaking stakeholders in Canada and within Amazon entities internationally

  • Experience or knowledge of cloud computing and existing cloud technologies
  • Financial acumen and ability to analyze and report on KPIs
  • Technical expertise to understand and explain AWS services and solutions

Responsibilities

  • Developing business by building customer loyalty and generating high-value partnerships
  • Collaborating with key account managers to ensure a coordinated approach
  • Developing proposals, obtaining customer approval for specifications, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Actively leading public procurement discussions with clients, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Canadian public sector contracting practices
  • Monitoring ongoing projects to ensure agreed-upon deliverables are met and revenue potential is maximized
  • Advocating for clients while respecting AWS's business objectives
