This is a Regular Part-Time Professor position within the Common Law Section at the University of Ottawa, for the CML11082 B00 - Property (Part 2 of 2) course during the Winter 2027 academic period. The course provides an introduction to concepts of property, ownership and possession, and the law relating to interests in real and personal property. Specific topics include: gifts; bailment; finders; doctrine of tenure; contingent interests; estates; future interest; natural resources; water rights; First Nations land law; co-ownership; easements; restrictive covenants; adverse possession; trusts and their impact on family property and commercial relationships. This course will also introduce the principles of equity. The expected enrolment for the course is 73 students, and it carries 2.5 credits, with a total of 32.5 work hours. The language of instruction is English, and the course is scheduled for Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 2:50 PM.
