The Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet advances education, workforce development, and economic opportunity across the Commonwealth. The Cabinet provides education and training programs, employment and reemployment services, unemployment insurance, and disability determination services to help Kentuckians gain skills, find work, and maintain economic stability. It partners with education providers, workforce boards, and employers to align training with labor market needs and oversees labor programs that promote fair and safe workplaces. To help the state maintain its competitive edge, the department offers comprehensive services which assure that our clientele have access to information resources: virtual, physical and human. As one of 10 state agencies in the country to combine library, archival, and public records programs, the department is uniquely positioned to meet these needs. We are seeking a Property Officer II to perform inventory management duties in the inventory, control, and destruction of property of a state agency and Court of Justice records inventory and to identify and retrieve records containing confidential and legal information. THIS POSITION IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR TELECOMMUTING. The duties of this job are performed in a warehouse setting and the candidate is required to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds and/or work in uncomfortable positions such as standing, walking, or kneeling for an extended period of time. This position will have access to confidential and sensitive information. The successful candidate will be required to ensure the safeguarding and security of all confidential and sensitive information and will be required to complete trainings, sign acknowledgements, follow all policies and adhere to all statutes and requirements pertaining to the safeguarding and security of confidential and sensitive information while employed and after employment ends. The Education and Labor Cabinet (ELC) participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government to your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.
