About The Position

We’re seeking an experienced Property Manager to oversee daily operations and financial performance of our commercial and residential properties. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, solid property management knowledge, and the ability to build positive tenant relationships. They are organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and tenant satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Confidence in handling emergency and on-call situations in a timely, professional manner while coordinating repairs with the maintenance team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Experience using property management software and comfort working with technology in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, utilizing strong time management and organizational skills.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to handle emergency and on-call situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years of experience in property management is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of our properties, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and appearance.
  • Maintain compliance with fire safety and life-safety requirements by coordinating inspections, certifications, and follow-up actions.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, or lease compliance issues, and ensure they are addressed promptly.
  • Track, prioritize, and ensure completion of maintenance requests.
  • Respond to urgent situations such as floods, fires, or power outages, coordinating repairs with maintenance team and communicating clearly with those affected.
  • Monitor local market trends, rental rates, and competitor properties to help keep pricing and leasing strategies competitive.
  • Support leasing and marketing efforts, including showing units, answering inquiries, and helping maintain high occupancy levels.
  • Review and screen applications, including credit checks, background checks, and financial checks, to ensure qualified tenants
  • Manage lease administration from start to finish, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, renewing, and amending agreements while ensuring compliance with lease terms.
  • Review, execute, and verify all lease documentation for new tenants, renewals, and tenant move-outs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee rent collection, track receivables, and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Prepare and issue notices for non-compliance, default, or eviction when necessary; attend hearings and coordinate with legal counsel as required.
  • Build positive tenant relationships through responsive communication, professionalism, and a strong customer service mindset.
