About The Position

Red Oak Management Co., Inc. is looking for a full-time Property Management Compliance Specialist to join our corporate office in Cedar Springs, MI. This is an opportunity for an experienced affordable housing or property management professional who thrives on accuracy, understands the importance of compliance, and enjoys being a trusted resource for multiple communities. Rather than focusing on a single property, you'll help support a large portfolio, work alongside company leadership, and play an important role in protecting the integrity of our operations. As our Property Management Compliance Specialist, you will become a key connection between property operations, compliance, and financial administration throughout our portfolio. You will enter and monitor rent checks, voucher payments, and security deposit activity for more than 600 units while helping ensure resident information remains accurate and up to date within our management software. You'll collaborate closely with Compliance and Accounts Receivable leadership on move-ins and move-outs, contribute to discussions regarding legal notices and court proceedings, and help maintain the standards that keep our communities compliant and operating efficiently. Your expertise will help ensure that important details are handled properly so our on-site teams and residents can continue to thrive.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in property management (on site or within a corporate office environment)
  • Previous experience with accounts receivable in housing and/or affordable housing compliance
  • Fair housing training and/or certification
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in on-site property management within affordable housing
  • Understanding of laws and best practices regarding legal proceedings in housing within the State of Michigan

Responsibilities
