Property Damage Subrogation Specialist
About The Position
First Chicago Insurance Company is seeking a Property Damage (PD) Subrogation Specialist to handle and resolve auto property damage subrogation claims. The role owns files from start to finish, investigating liability and developing and negotiating liability theories with third-party carriers, attorneys, and uninsured motorists. The specialist works to maximize recoveries and achieve claim outcomes consistent with company objectives and applicable state regulations. This is an in-office position on the Claims team. The successful candidate is an experienced auto insurance subrogation professional who can negotiate effectively and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- At least 2–3 years of auto insurance company subrogation experience.
- Knowledge of liability law.
- Good interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to pass written examinations where required by state statutes to become a licensed claims adjuster.
- Ability to work on an online computer-based claims system.

Responsibilities
- Review evidence supporting property damage subrogation activity in accordance with policy contracts, corporate claims policy, and state regulations.
- Contact appropriate parties, insurance carriers, and attorneys to negotiate settlements in compliance with company objectives and applicable state regulations.
- Evaluate counterclaims and review them with Claims management.
- Review settlement offers with Claims management to ensure compliance with company objectives and applicable state regulations.
- Achieve and maintain company goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
