About The Position

Lonestar is seeking a Property Damage (PD) Subrogation Specialist to join its Claims team. The specialist handles and resolves auto property damage subrogation claims from start to finish, investigating liability and negotiating recoveries with third-party carriers, attorneys, and uninsured motorists. The role involves developing and negotiating liability theories and resolving files in accordance with company objectives, policy contracts, and applicable state regulations. This is an in-office position.

Requirements

• At least 2–3 years of auto insurance company subrogation experience.
• At least 8–10 years of non-standard auto carrier experience.
• Knowledge of liability law.
• Good interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to pass written examinations where required by state statutes to become a licensed claims adjuster.
• Ability to work on an online, computer-based claims system.

Responsibilities

• Review evidence supporting property damage subrogation activity in accordance with policy contracts, corporate claims policy, and state regulations.
• Contact appropriate parties, insurance carriers, and attorneys to negotiate settlements consistent with company objectives and applicable state regulations.
• Evaluate counterclaims and review them with Claims management.
• Review settlement offers with Claims management to ensure compliance with company objectives and applicable state regulations.
• Achieve and maintain company goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
