About The Position

This temporary administrative support position works primarily with the Assessment team to collect, verify, and input property information. The role requires a courteous and friendly manner, strong collaboration skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and a consistent focus on delivering high-quality customer service. Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Completion of Grade 12 or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
  • A pleasant, cooperative team player with the ability to learn tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods and interact with the public as required.

  • Occasional lifting and moving of heavy parcels.
  • Occasional driving may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Office, including mail merge in Word and basic to intermediate functions in Excel.
  • Creates and maintains data on the assessment roll and to documents property characteristic information received from various sources (for example: certificate of title, requests for information from property owner, MLS system, photos, sales verification, etc.).
  • Assist the assessment team in the preparation of information required for assessment appeals.
  • Works with correspondence from property owners.
  • Creates, formats, reviews, and maintains critical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Retrieves CAMAlot reports from mass appraisal system for re-inspection.
  • Supports the implementation of transferring hard copy property files into electronic filing system.
  • Provides data collection and data entry support, including maintenance and import of information from various sources (e.g. safety codes, property owners, etc.).
  • Prepares and emails essential reports and correspondence to property owners.
  • Responds to basic inquiries related to information requests and required data entry.
  • Assists with property inquiries by tracking, documenting, and forwarding them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provides general administrative and clerical support to the Assessment and Finance teams.
  • Experience with photographic documentation and loading photos into an assessment software system.
  • Input data for building and land characteristics into mass appraisal system.
  • Assisting the assessors in conducting, coordinating and completing the annual / general / supplementary assessments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
