Propane Service Technician
About The Position
Tiger Fuel Company is seeking a customer-focused, mechanically inclined Propane Service Technician to support its service and safety work. The hands-on role involves working independently, with teammates and contractors, and with customers across a wide variety of equipment and situations. Duties include installing, repairing, and maintaining propane distribution systems; responding to emergencies; and installing and testing systems. The position also involves transporting propane equipment, maintaining vehicles and work areas, keeping records, and participating in an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergency deliveries or responses. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clean driving record.
- Pass a drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle record check.
Nice To Haves
- Ideally, two or more years of experience installing and repairing propane-based heating systems, equipment, and appliances.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and maintaining propane-operated appliances.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain propane distribution systems for retail customers.
- Provide emergency response and perform system installation and testing.
- Provide customer service by supplying service information and answering inquiries during daily interactions.
- Inspect the vehicle and notify a supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
- Keep the work area and vehicle clean and orderly, with tools, equipment, and materials properly stored.
- Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
- Operate the vehicle according to established safety procedures.
- Load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane equipment to and from specified destinations.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergency deliveries or responses.
