About The Position

The Propane Delivery Driver safely drives a propane delivery vehicle to customer locations and loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane. The role calls for a positive, enthusiastic approach to safety, sales, customer service, and teamwork. Drivers make deliveries in various weather and driving conditions, and overtime is possible during the heating season. The position includes an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergency deliveries or responses, as well as other assigned work such as yard and plant maintenance or dock work.

Requirements

Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with at least 2 years of experience.
Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brakes endorsements.
Ability to work outdoors in varied weather and driving conditions.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with existing and potential customers.
Flexibility to perform duties outside the basic job description.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Desire to succeed and advance in a team environment.
Willingness to take direction from the Plant Manager.
Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical, drug test, and Homeland Security background check.
Ability to frequently lift cylinders weighing 40–50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Prior gas delivery experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

Load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to and from specified destinations.
Inspect the vehicle and notify the supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
Operate the truck in accordance with established safety procedures.
Interact daily with customers, provide exceptional service, supply service information, and answer inquiries.
Assist with sales initiatives.
Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergency deliveries or responses.
Ensure all DOT requirements are met at all times.
Perform other assigned duties, including yard and plant maintenance or dock work.
