About The Position

The Promotions Assistant represents Radio One stations at on-site appearances, events, remotes, and other locations. The role supports the setup and execution of station events and live broadcasts, maintains promotion and remote equipment and station vehicles, and helps develop and carry out creative ways to increase public awareness of the station. The assistant serves as a contact between listeners and the stations during promotions and events, and coordinates with the Marketing & Promotions Director, Promotions Specialist, Administrative Assistant, and other department members.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• At least two years of driving experience.
• Flexible schedule and ability and willingness to work varied weekday and weekend hours.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Self-starter who can take and follow direction.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with station clients and listeners.
• Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license and state-mandated automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and represent various radio stations at on-site appearances, locations, and events.
• Assist with the setup and/or execution of assigned station events, remotes, and station appearances.
• Maintain station promotion and remote equipment within the department.
• Develop, plan, and carry out creative ways to increase public awareness of the station.
• Present a positive attitude and act as the contact between Radio One listeners and the stations during on-site events and promotions.
• Maintain station vehicles and equipment.
• Set up and maintain proper equipment for live broadcasts and remotes.
• Serve as a liaison for the promotions department and assigned stations during events, remotes, and station appearances.
• Assist and coordinate with the Marketing & Promotions Director, Promotions Specialist, Administrative Assistant, and other department members.
