About The Position

The Promotions Assistant represents Radio One stations at on-site appearances, events, and other locations. The role supports the setup and execution of station events, remotes, and appearances; maintains station promotion and remote equipment, vehicles, and related equipment; and helps develop and carry out creative ways to increase public awareness of the station. The Promotions Assistant serves as a point of contact between listeners and the stations during events, coordinates with the promotions department and assigned stations, and assists the Marketing & Promotions Director, Promotions Specialist, Administrative Assistant, and other department members.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and state-mandated automobile insurance.
• Clean driving record and at least 2 years of driving experience.
• Flexible schedule and ability and willingness to work varied weekday and weekend hours.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Self-starter who can take and follow direction.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with station clients and listeners.
• Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift or move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and represent various radio stations at on-site appearances, locations, and events.
• Assist with the setup and/or execution of assigned station events, remotes, and station appearances.
• Maintain station promotion and remote equipment within the department.
• Develop, plan, and carry out creative ways to increase public awareness of the station.
• Maintain a positive attitude and act as the contact between Radio One listeners and the stations during on-site events and promotions.
• Maintain station vehicles and equipment.
• Set up and maintain equipment for live broadcasts and remotes.
• Liaise with the promotions department and assigned stations during events, remotes, and station appearances.
• Assist and coordinate with the Marketing & Promotions Director, Promotions Specialist, Administrative Assistant, and other department members.
