About The Position

Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Hazardous Materials team in London, ON office. This role offers an opportunity to apply expertise and uphold a commitment to excellence. This role is about more than inspections, it’s about shaping safer, healthier, and more sustainable spaces for people and communities. As a Senior Project Technologist, you’ll contribute to critical health and safety initiatives by developing hygiene documentation, preparing technical reports, and working closely with clients to meet their goals. Requirements

  • Diploma/degree in Construction, Architectural or Civil Technology/Engineering (or related)
  • 0–2 years of hazardous materials experience (asbestos, mould, lead, PCBs, etc.) and familiarity with H&S/environmental legislation
  • Understanding of building systems (structure/envelope/HVAC/electrical/plumbing) and ability to interpret drawings
  • Experience using environmental monitoring and sampling equipment
  • Strong communication, organization, and technical report-writing skills; able to follow detailed instructions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
  • Flexibility for after-hours/rotational weekends; valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel regionally (travel compensated)

  • E.T. (or related designation) considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Complete hazardous materials and designated substances assessments; evaluate workplace exposures
  • Interview clients and coordinate fieldwork (scope, site access, scheduling, contractors)
  • Perform site inspections and assess building systems/materials for potential hazards
  • Use monitoring equipment; collect bulk, wipe, and air samples (incl. suspect asbestos/lead/PCBs and PCM asbestos air samples)
  • Prepare clear technical reports with findings, exposure results, and practical recommendations
  • Monitor abatement/restoration for compliance and safe work practices; document results and completion
  • Contribute to business development by strengthening existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities
  • Support and mentor junior staff through training and field guidance
