About The Position

Ames Construction is hiring a Project Safety Manager for its Lake Havasu City location. Ames is a full-service heavy civil and industrial contractor that builds infrastructure such as highways, bridges, mines, dams, and rail. The role is responsible for maintaining a safe project environment and implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program. The Safety Manager works with the Project Manager, clients, subcontractors, and the regional safety team.

Requirements

Five or more years of experience in a construction safety supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of all aspects of civil construction.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Positive attitude and excellent motivational skills.
Valid driver's license.
Successfully pass a security background screening.

Responsibilities

Promote safety as a top priority by monitoring and maintaining a safe work environment.
Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program, including developing site safety policies and procedures.
Conduct training, including new-hire orientation and safety meetings.
Monitor heavy construction work for compliance with safety requirements.
Monitor and adhere to budget guidelines and ensure cost-control measures are followed.
Remain vigilant about conditions and work practices and be empowered to stop unsafe work.
Assess risk management and investigate incidents.
Provide and analyze project safety statistics.
Assist the Project Manager with project setups.
Communicate with clients and subcontractors.
Collaborate with the regional safety team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
