The Project Milestone Keeper (PMK) assesses projects at each milestone or review, including vehicle, powertrain, platform, electrical/electronic, engine, gearbox, and new mass-production launch projects. The PMK evaluates project status against key performance indicators—including quality, performance, cost, schedule, industrialization, purchasing, and brand—and reviews the deliverables expected at each milestone. The PMK contributes lessons learned from assigned projects to improve standards and methods, including SOD and MPRI. They advise project teams on quality actions and recovery plans, and on methods to achieve product and process quality results. The role also provides commercialization agreement for vehicles or powertrains. The project scope includes engine, gearbox, and electric powertrain projects; serial-life powertrain evolutions; partnership and cooperation projects; and new industrializations, such as new engine, gearbox, or electric powertrain component plant projects. The PMK works closely with project teams and key stakeholders, establishes and assesses milestone deliverables, convenes milestone assessment meetings, and arranges discussions between project teams and relevant stakeholders to develop recovery plans when needed. They identify and share methods and lessons learned to improve future projects and standards. A Project Quality Correspondent assists with activities to define milestone assessments.
