About The Position

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its State Department of Transportation Client Center. The role provides project management services for a variety of projects while maintaining Barge project management procedures, business goals, and objectives. The Project Manager develops and manages projects, leads project post-mortem reviews, and executes administrative requirements defined in each contract to support positive business impact and a strong employee experience. The role is also expected to establish and build positive client relationships. The Project Manager works with office leadership to carry out project management procedures, coordinates clients and project teams, supports strategic and business planning, and may occasionally serve as a technical lead. Barge is an employee-owned engineering and architecture firm with multidisciplinary practices, serving clients nationwide. Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
Six years of related experience in design and project management.
Experience working with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT).
Strong design and technical credibility.
Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills.
Ability to effectively manage concurrent projects and deadlines.
Strong teambuilding skills.
Ability to collaborate with other design disciplines.

Nice To Haves

PE candidates are highly preferred.
PMP candidates without a PE may also be considered if they have the same technical skills.

Responsibilities

Work with office leadership to execute proper project management procedures.
Develop contracts, including subcontracts, that comply with Barge terms.
Prepare comprehensive Project Management Plans.
Lead and facilitate a collaborative work environment and advance initiatives that support a positive workplace culture.
Ensure implementation and execution of the Quality Program.
Review project reports and findings and make project modifications as needed.
Provide technical guidance and resolve project problems.
Act as the primary agent between the client and project team by coordinating events, leading client and internal project meetings, and delivering the final project to the client.
Occasionally function as a technical lead on projects.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.
Attend leadership meetings.
Support and implement strategic and business planning activities.
Perform other duties as requested.
