Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field
  • At least five (5) years of experience managing projects, business improvement initiatives, strategy, analytics, or related work.
  • Proven experience successfully leading projects from planning through completion.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office
  • Able to identify, track, and resolve project issues and risks, while keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience providing updates to teams, senior leaders, and Boards.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading projects involving multiple contributors, stakeholders, contractors, or service providers.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP designation is an asset.
  • experience with Power BI and project management software is an asset.
  • Experience working with Indigenous Governments, Indigenous organizations, or Indigenous-led initiatives is an asset; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact between First Nations clients, CPA firms, bookkeepers, and internal FMB teams to support project delivery and track progress.
  • Manage projects from planning through completion, including timelines, budgets, resources, documentation, and deliverables.
  • Assess project feasibility by conducting cost-benefit analyses, risk assessments, and return-on-investment evaluations.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenses, contractor invoices, and resource needs to ensure projects stay on track and within budget.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
  • Track project progress, prepare status reports, and communicate updates through regular meetings and reporting processes.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans to address challenges and minimize disruptions.
  • Lead meetings, gather feedback, and identify opportunities to improve project plans, processes, and outcomes.
  • Manage contractors and service providers, including onboarding, assigning work, monitoring performance, and resolving issues.
  • Ensure projects follow established project management practices, quality standards, and industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
