About The Position

Based at our manufacturing plant in Chesapeake, VA, as the Project Manager, you will lead the planning, engineering, and execution of plant site projects. You will act as the primary authority for ensuring projects are completed successfully, managing project employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum 8–10 years of related technical experience, ideally in heavy industrial, fully automated process plants.
  • Advanced AutoCAD proficiency to manage and develop plant drawings (layouts, fabrication details, process flows, utilities).
  • Expertise in mathematical, statistical, and advanced engineering concepts (structural, hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical power distribution).
  • Ability to interpret MSHA regulations, building codes (International Building/Fire/Mechanical), and Federal/State environmental permits.
  • Strong leadership, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to define problems, analyze data, and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Must be able to climb stairs (up to 9 floors), work at heights and in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, AutoCad, and SAP.

  • Experience in heavy industrial, fully automated process plants
  • Experience in Cement Production or Mining Processes
  • Familiarity with process equipment such as Conveyors, Crushers, Weigh Feeders, Ball Mills, Separator/Classifiers, Dust Collectors, Storage Silos, Packaging Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage annual capital (CapEx) and miscellaneous projects with an approximate budget of $2–3 million, overseeing roughly 20 projects per year.
  • Use SAP financial software to track expenditures and budgets monthly.
  • Plan, organize, and integrate engineering projects, from initial technical studies and design to final installation and commissioning.
  • Review all designs and schedules to ensure they meet engineering principles, company standards, local standards, and contract requirements.
  • Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Align new equipment installation schedules with active plant production operations to minimize disruption.
  • Champion a "zero lost-time" safety culture, ensuring all work complies with MSHA regulations and environmental standards for air, water, and soil.
  • Maintain accurate site drawings, specifications, and project reports.
