About The Position

Rycon Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager for its Special Projects Group at the Pittsburgh office. Rycon is an employee-owned construction company providing construction management, general contracting, design-build, and program management services nationwide. Its projects include new construction, renovations, adaptive reuse, and interior fit-outs across a range of industries and building types.

The Project Manager will manage construction projects from concept through completion, coordinating project documentation, subcontractors, schedules, changes, costs, and owner relations. The role may periodically require travel to out-of-town project jobsites. Qualified candidates must submit to a background screening after accepting an offer.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in construction of small- to medium-sized commercial projects valued up to $5 million.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to direct complex projects from concept to fully operational status.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to create material take-offs.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented, with problem-solving ability.
• Ability to periodically travel to out-of-town project jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Read project documents and contracts.
• Write subcontracts; negotiate and award subcontracts.
• Review and prepare subcontractor scopes of work.
• Develop and maintain schedules using Microsoft Project.
• Attend meetings and prepare minutes.
• Review and prepare change orders.
• Develop and track submittals, RFIs, and cost reports.
• Maintain owner relations.
• Maintain the overall project budget and perform cost forecasting.
• Direct complex projects from concept to fully operational status.
