About The Position

Atkinson is seeking a Project Manager to serve as the principal company representative at the project site, overseeing the entirety of a project. This role involves creating a project plan, guiding communication among stakeholders, managing risk, and monitoring progress against schedule and budget. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for completing the job and a collaborative spirit to support project goals.

Requirements

Minimum of 8-10 years of engineering and general contracting experience on $30M to $250M+ complex, self-perform, heavy-civil construction projects.
Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or related discipline; or similar field or equivalent work experience.
High degree of initiative, independence, personal responsibility, and integrity.
Willingness to speak up, listen up, ask open-ended questions, and learn from others.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

Champion and influence Atkinson's Safety Culture, ensuring team understanding and accountability for safety responsibilities.
Proactively pre-plan to address risks and make on-the-spot adjustments/corrections to ensure safety, regardless of time or cost impacts.
Take responsibility for client relations and focus on client needs.
Track and report revenue, ensuring accurate estimated costs to complete and future forecasting.
Plan early to avoid safety risks, address production and quality concerns, and allow time for stakeholder input and buy-in.
Make thoughtful, timely decisions to keep the project moving forward.
Employ a strategic vs. tactical approach to problem-solving, focusing on the big picture.
Contribute to winning new work through estimating, proposal, and presentation efforts.
Ensure familiarity with state and local compliance and regulatory requirements.
Communicate clearly, follow up, provide support, and hold the team accountable for deadlines.
Practice "win-win" negotiation.
Understand insurance products and coverages for Atkinson, subcontractors, and vendors, and verify their insurance status.
Keep stakeholders informed.
