About The Position

SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work. This program is specifically for active duty military members and not for veterans who have already separated. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area, where this role is situated, is a leader in ISR and aviation, serving as a prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator. IAS provides end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities, including design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training, and complete logistics support. The business area focuses on tailoring solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements, consistently aiming to exceed expectations with a strong record of on-time and on (or under) budget deliveries.

Requirements

  • Currently serving as ACTIVE DUTY military and be eligible to participate in the DoD Skillbridge program
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in project management and/or in a related or technical field
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications
  • In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience is required
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a complex project with multi-function team
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills & capability to meet schedules
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience managing projects requiring Earned Value Management
  • Experience with risk management planning and documentation
  • Experience managing project scope and scope creep during project execution
  • Experience in resource planning and management during project execution
  • Knowledge of Kaizen & Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 & CMMI process standards
  • Familiarity with government contracting and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects or a larger project, overseeing all phases from proposal development to project closeout
  • Assemble project teams, assign individual responsibilities, and identify appropriate resources
  • Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Interface with internal and external customers or field-based employees on technical matters as needed
  • Communicate project status with senior project managers, functional area managers, or program managers
  • Track progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, and other performance indicators
  • Prepare reports to keep stakeholders informed of project status
  • Ensure timely completion of projects by developing and adhering to schedules
  • Remain agile and flexible to adapt to frequent changes in project requirements or scope
