About The Position

Pacific States Environmental Contractors, Inc., Northern California’s premier environmental contractor, is seeking a Project Manager to join our management team in the Bay Area. You will play a key role in both field and project operations, supporting the successful execution of complex heavy civil projects. This role includes contributing to planning, coordination, cost tracking and quality control- ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to drive projects from planning through completion. Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree. Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing civil engineering, grading or excavation projects, and jobsite safety.
  • Able to read and understand Plans and Specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Plan Grid, Bluebeam and scheduling software. Ability to learn new programs.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate with internal and external personnel of all levels. Capable of negotiating with clients.
  • Think critically to overcome challenges and make informed decisions.
  • Able to effectively multi-task and proactively problem solve in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Able to work in team and independent settings.
  • Flexible and able to pivot strategies with unexpected challenges.
  • A positive leader to motivate and guide employees, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.

  • Required to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

  • Understand our client’s needs and the scope of the project.
  • Estimate resources needed to complete projects.
  • Oversee CPM, 3 Week, and 9 Day schedules.
  • Pre-costing activities of work.
  • Manage the cost report, AR and AP aspect of assigned projects.
  • Manage one or more direct reports.
  • Conduct site safety surveys to evaluate safety program implementation.
  • Monitor subcontractor safety performance to ensure Cal-OSHA compliance.
  • Implement and enforce company and client safety policies.
  • Other duties as directed by the Construction Manager.
