About The Position

Rycon Construction, an employee-owned company (ESOP) and an ENR Top 400 Contractor, is seeking an experienced Project Manager specializing in Mission Critical/Data Centers for its Washington D.C. office. Rycon provides nationwide construction management, general contracting, and design-build services, with a diverse portfolio including healthcare, higher education, industrial/warehouse, commercial, and multi-unit residential projects. The Project Manager will oversee all project phases from preconstruction to closeout, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, quality, and safety goals.

Requirements

5+ years of construction project management experience, including mission critical/data center projects.
Experience managing commercial construction projects valued at $100M+.
Strong understanding of data center construction, including MEP systems, power, cooling, and commissioning.
Ability to manage projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Proven experience leading owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Strong communication, organizational, budgeting, and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Nice To Haves

Experience with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data centers.
OSHA 30.
Experience with design-build delivery methods.

Responsibilities

Manage all phases of mission critical/data center construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
Review project documents, contracts, drawings, and specifications to ensure successful project execution.
Manage multiple projects while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety goals.
Develop, negotiate, award, and administer subcontracts.
Review and prepare subcontractor scopes of work and coordinate trade partners throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project and other scheduling tools.
Lead project meetings and maintain meeting minutes, action items, and project documentation.
Assist with budgeting, estimating, and procurement activities.
Review, negotiate, and process change orders.
Manage submitttsals, RFIs, cost reports, procurement logs, and project financials.
Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to drive project success.
Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact throughout the project.
Identify project risks and develop solutions to keep projects on track.
Support project commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities.
