About The Position

Our GO Expansion Operations Team is looking for a Project Manager to develop and deliver comprehensive, strategic, and operational project management solutions that support project planning, stakeholder engagement, contract management, risk mitigation, and successful project delivery across the organization.

Requirements

  • Completion of a degree in Transportation, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business, Architecture or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Organizational, interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills to coordinate complex projects under pressure to meet schedule and budget commitments.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management within complex projects with an operational component preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
  • Advanced skills/proficiency in MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, PowerBI, and/or familiarity with transportation technology and systems (scheduling, simulations, signalling, planning, etc.) an asset.
  • Knowledge of transportation industry and associated rules/regulations (i.e. CROR, Transport Canada) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Defines the need for concept, preliminary or detail design alternatives and new or improved procedures, design standards, specifications or contract documents.
  • Works collaboratively with the Risk Team (e.g., identify risk profiles) to develop a risk management plan by resolving or escalating issues as necessary, developing a project risk register, identifying cause, mitigation, budget/time impact, and probability, documenting lessons learned to mitigate future risk/impact on projects.
  • Familiarity in overseeing/developing Concept of Operations documentation.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate as required with consultants/contractors.
  • Verifies expenditures in accordance with the Operating Model with regard to partnering with various teams including finance, contracts, document control, and risk to ensure proper authorization, approvals and payments of consultant invoices.
  • Within a matrix structure, oversees and takes ownership for the delivery of work performed by project team members, consultants, contractors at all stages of implementing major expansion projects, and new, replacement, or enhanced physical infrastructure projects.
  • Identify and report on resourcing needs on an ongoing basis to support the overall project resource plan and ensures project team is adequately staffed to meet project demand.
