Project Manager Location: Onsite at AMOS Manufacturing (Alpena, MI) with occasional travel to customer facilities, vendor locations, and project sites. About AMOS Mfg. Position Summary AMOS Mfg. is seeking a motivated and organized Project Manager to oversee customer projects from order handoff through manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and project completion. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for customers while coordinating internal departments, vendors, and field personnel to ensure projects are completed successfully, on time, and within scope. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management, project coordination, manufacturing, engineering, construction, industrial equipment, or related industries.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as projects require.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years or more of customer relationship management experience.
  • Three (3) years or more of vendor or supplier management experience.
  • Experience in custom equipment manufacturing, material handling systems, recycling equipment, conveyors, shredders, industrial machinery, or turnkey equipment installations.
  • PMP or other project management certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer projects from project kickoff through final completion and closeout.
  • Establish project scope, requirements, timelines, and deliverables with Sales and Engineering teams.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings, design reviews, milestone reviews, installation planning meetings, and status updates.
  • Coordinate activities between Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Vendors, Contractors, and Field Service teams.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, layouts, and technical documents to identify concerns and support project execution.
  • Manage change requests and coordinate project scope modifications.
  • Track vendor performance and ensure critical materials and services are delivered on schedule.
  • Coordinate equipment delivery, site readiness activities, installation, startup, and commissioning efforts.
  • Maintain accurate project records and provide timely communication to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify risks and resolve project obstacles before they impact schedules or customer expectations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project management processes and customer satisfaction.
