About The Position

The Project Manager leads planning and implementation of large, cross-functional initiatives to modernize faculty lifecycle administration and academic appointments. The work includes implementing new software, making changes to Workday structures and related administrative processes, and coordinating across academic and administrative units. In partnership with the Director of Faculty and Postdoctoral Operations and the Vice Provost of Faculty, who serve as business process owners and subject matter leads, the Project Manager translates program goals and established process work into a coordinated implementation plan. The role provides project management expertise, establishes structure and priorities, identifies risks and dependencies, coordinates resources, and guides work from planning through implementation and stabilization. The position manages implementation of technology supporting faculty lifecycle and academic appointment processes, coordinates changes to related structures, roles, data, workflows, and integrations, and connects workstreams so shared decisions, dependencies, timelines, and stakeholder impacts are addressed consistently. The Project Manager also partners with the Project Coordinator on stakeholder communications, training coordination, change readiness, meeting support, and project documentation. This is a fixed-term position, anticipated initially for 12 months, with a possible extension. It is a full-time, salary-based staff position located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
