About The Position

Mission Control is growing and seeking an experienced Intermediate / Senior Project Manager to lead complex software and space technology projects from initiation through delivery. You will play a key leadership role working with engineering, science, and business teams to deliver high-impact projects aligned with customer objectives and company strategy. This role requires strong project execution capabilities, stakeholder management, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, innovative environment. As a senior member of the team, you will contribute to improving project management practices, mentoring junior staff, and strengthening Mission Control’s delivery excellence. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical field
  • 5–10+ years of project management experience in a technical or software-focused environment
  • Proven experience delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid)
  • Experience managing schedules, budgets, and risks in dynamic environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving ability
  • Experience with tools such as MS Project or similar
  • Experience in software development projects required
  • Strong leadership and accountability mindset, with a track record of taking ownership of project outcomes and driving teams toward commitments even when faced with competing priorities or ambiguity.
  • Forward-thinking and solutions-oriented individual, with a demonstrated ability to anticipate risks and dependencies early and drive resolution before they impact project delivery.

  • Strong collaboration and leadership presence, with the ability to guide cross-functional teams, build alignment, and mentor others without relying on formal authority.

Nice To Haves

  • Hardware or space/robotics experience is an asset
  • PMP certification or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in structured project management principles and a commitment to professional development in the discipline.
  • Agile or Scrum Master experience, with practical knowledge of iterative delivery frameworks and the ability to adapt planning and execution approaches to suit project complexity and team dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through the full lifecycle—from proposal support and planning to execution and close-out
  • Serve as the primary interface with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans (WBS, schedules, budgets, resource plans, risk registers, and subcontractor plans)
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, scientists, and technical specialists, bridging the communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate risks; maintain and manage risk registers
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when needed
  • Communicate progress to all stakeholders through regular reporting, milestone reviews, and executive updates
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and partners
  • Mentor and support junior project managers or team members
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, processes, and organizational practices, and contribute to the evolution of project management processes, tools, and procedures
  • Support organizational growth by improving efficiency, reporting, and delivery frameworks
