About The Position

Reporting to the IT Program Manager, this role frequently works with Director level and below on various projects and initiatives. The complexity of projects expected for the Project Manager include moderate to large-scale projects, typically involving up to campus-level or over 5 practices/departments with up to 7 various IT resources during project implementation. The role operates with limited autonomy under general supervision, requiring some instruction and guidance. This position supports the PMO, IT, and eChart Departments and collaborates with a variety of vendors. The Project Manager is knowledgeable and proficient in project management processes, documentation, and the project lifecycle. They work with the project team, end users, and vendors to gain an increased understanding of overall system integration and functionality. Responsibilities include creating and gathering information for project documentation, test plans, implementation plans, support documentation, and end-user acceptance during various phases of the project. The role is responsible for tracking issues and leading the project team in performing analysis, troubleshooting, and relaying findings related to reported system issues. This includes coordinating communication, training, and downtime with end users, stakeholders, and the project team. The Project Manager must be able to document and follow project change control procedures. They work closely with other IT staff, software vendors, and operations to ensure system integrity is maintained and that IT deliverables meet operational business needs. The role involves researching, analyzing, and facilitating the implementation of business and system workflows to expedite process improvement and coordinate business practices. Identifying best practices and working with the team to implement opportunities for standardization is also key. The Project Manager prepares activity and other reports as necessary and provides some guidance and mentoring to other team members. Attaining and maintaining necessary certifications, as applicable, in a timely manner according to policy is required. This individual should possess excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills, along with highly effective written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Days and hours worked may be variable.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma OR Associate's Degree OR Bachelor's Degree
  • Understanding of information technology and/or healthcare is necessary.
  • 8 years' experience in one or more of the following: Healthcare, IT, and/or Project Management with High School Diploma
  • OR 6 years' experience in one or more of the following: Healthcare, IT, and/or Project Management with Associate's Degree
  • OR 4 years' experience in one or more of the following: Healthcare, IT, and/or Project Management with Bachelor's Degree.
  • Valid driver's license

  • Certification in Project Management Program (PMP).

Responsibilities

  • Develops project charters and other required artifacts (i.e., Project Profiles, Budgets, Work Effort Estimates, and Future Dataflow).
  • Identifies project stakeholders and creating stakeholder registers.
  • Performs analysis of processes, workflows, systems, etc.
  • Facilitates project kick-off meetings.
  • Interviews stakeholders to ascertain project requirements and scope.
  • Develops project management plans to include scope, scheduling, and sequencing activities.
  • Creates work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Reviews application specifications and system designs enabling stakeholders to make suggestions.
  • Helps create various types of budgets and collects relevant components.
  • Creates checklists and registers and develops test plans with appropriate resources.
  • Develops communication plans customized to each project and audience.
  • Assesses risk by performing qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, identifies risks, and plans risk responses.
  • Supports procurement management and processes.
  • Acquires, develops, and manages project teams.
  • Communicates to project teams and stakeholders regarding all facets of the project.
  • Directs and manages project work, ensuring IT deliverables & business objectives are successfully achieved.
  • Manages communications at various levels & to various audiences.
  • Assists with necessary procurements.
  • Manages stakeholder engagement and addresses problem/issue/crisis resolution.
  • Collaboratively orchestrates the project team's work and task management.
