About The Position

Vertiv is hiring a Project Manager Supervisor for key data center accounts. This is a visible role responsible for supervising a team of project managers/coordinators while also managing assigned customer projects. The Project Manager Supervisor drives communication and coordination between external partners (customers, general contractors, site personnel, suppliers) and internal stakeholders (Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Field Services, and Finance) to deliver exceptional customer service and on-time delivery from order acknowledgement through equipment startup. The Project Manager Supervisor is accountable for execution across a portfolio of projects (cost, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction) and for day-to-day leadership of the project team. This role assigns and prioritizes work, coaches team members, ensures standard processes are followed, removes roadblocks, and serves as an escalation point for internal and external stakeholders while maintaining ownership of Vertiv scope delivery.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of project management experience required; experience supporting construction or mission-critical/data center projects is a plus.
  • PMP or CAPM preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Prior experience leading or supervising others (directly or as a team lead) preferred; demonstrated ability to coach, delegate, and hold others accountable.
  • Prior power distribution equipment experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to lead effective meetings and present to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment and influence without direct authority.
  • Knowledge of construction, electrical, and mechanical contracting is a plus.
  • Critical infrastructure and data center familiarity (UPS, thermal, battery, monitoring) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes, data center infrastructure, and commissioning is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of project managers/coordinators, including onboarding, training, setting expectations, and providing regular feedback.
  • Partner with the Project Management Office (PMO) to implement standard methods, procedures, and best practices; ensure team compliance with required tools, documentation, and governance.
  • Define project scope and key deliverables; collaborate with functional leaders to develop execution plans. Assign resources, coordinate with Order Management, plant production, Logistics, contractors, services, and warranty groups, and escalate conflicts to avoid customer impact.
  • Monitor team workload, schedules, and critical path activities; set priorities, balance capacity across projects, and ensure coverage for deadlines, customer meetings, and site activities.
  • Ensure contract requirements and customer expectations are met by leading cross-functional execution, reinforcing accountability, and driving timely issue resolution.
  • Review project health and performance (quality, schedule, cost) using established reporting and KPI processes. Ensure meeting notes, action items, and follow-ups are captured and completed.
  • Identify project risks and drive risk mitigation plans; remove roadblocks and communicate status, decisions, and escalations to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (contractors, customers, suppliers) and model a customer-focused culture for the team.
  • Support talent management activities such as interviewing/selection, performance reviews, corrective action (as needed), and recognition; promote adherence to company policies and a safe, compliant work environment.
