About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager, Strategic Accounts to lead a portfolio of projects valued at approximately $100M annually for a strategic customer and several key accounts. Based in Houston, Texas, this role is responsible for the successful execution of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery on schedule, on budget, on margin, and in accordance with quality, safety, and customer requirements. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, managing customer relationships, project communications, expectations, escalations, and overall customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires a highly organized, customer-focused leader who can effectively coordinate cross-functional teams, proactively manage risks, influence stakeholders, and drive projects to successful completion. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Safety, Finance, Testing, and Sales to ensure alignment and execution excellence across all assigned projects. This role is ideal for an experienced Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, engineered-to-order manufacturing environment and enjoys managing both customer relationships and complex project execution. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of strategic projects while maintaining strong customer relationships, driving internal accountability, protecting profitability, and ensuring successful project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline.
  • PMP Certification required.
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience managing complex customer projects in engineered-to-order manufacturing, industrial, utility, power, EPC, data center, or infrastructure environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project portfolios valued at approximately $100M annually.
  • Proven success managing strategic customer relationships and acting as the primary customer interface.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects involving protection and control systems, medium- and low-voltage switchgear, relay panels, motor control centers (MCCs), power distribution equipment, industrial control panels, integrated E-House/control house solutions, and other engineered electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of project execution across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, production planning, quality, testing, logistics, and customer delivery.
  • Advanced knowledge of project planning, scheduling, forecasting, critical path management, resource planning, and project controls.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, change management, contract administration, and margin management.
  • Experience leading project reviews, customer reviews, risk reviews, and operational performance reviews.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive execution across Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Safety, Finance, Testing, and Sales.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues early and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and customer focus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of customer projects valued at approximately $100M annually, including a strategic customer and multiple key accounts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, building strong relationships and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage customer communications, expectations, priorities, and escalations while maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Lead customer project reviews, status meetings, and execution discussions, providing updates on project status, key milestones, risks, mitigation plans, recovery actions, and delivery commitments.
  • Lead projects from order intake through engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, shipment, and project closeout.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, on margin, and in accordance with contractual and quality requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, forecasts, recovery plans, and project execution strategies.
  • Coordinate activities across Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Safety, Finance, Testing, and Sales to achieve project objectives.
  • Influence functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project priorities, schedules, and customer commitments.
  • Identify project risks early and develop mitigation plans to minimize impacts to schedule, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and manage project financial performance, including revenue, costs, profitability, cash flow, forecasts, change orders, and margin performance.
  • Lead internal project review meetings and provide regular project status updates to management.
  • Manage contractual requirements, scope changes, customer requests, and project documentation.
  • Drive accountability across all supporting functions to ensure project milestones and delivery commitments are achieved.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on execution excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Serve as the escalation point for project-related issues and coordinate corrective actions when needed.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
