Manager, Strategic Accounts

Manifold AI•Cambridge, MA
•$140,000 - $180,000

About The Position

Manifold is seeking a Manager, Strategic Accounts to own the relationship spectrum from post-implementation adoption through renewal and expansion for a portfolio of Manifold's most important accounts. This role involves managing relationships with operational stakeholders and executive leaders, serving as the operational and commercial owner accountable for renewals, upsells, cross-sells, and expansion revenue. The position requires providing a personalized, high-touch partnership to maintain healthy relationships. This is a critical role within the Strategic Account Management function, requiring direct work with senior stakeholders such as a health system's chief data officer or a data provider's commercialization lead. Fluency in science and data economics is necessary to navigate commercialization deals or research use cases independently. The role reports into the VP, Strategic Account Management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing strategic account relationships with revenue or retention accountability.
  • Partnering directly with senior stakeholders and navigating competing priorities across functions.
  • Ideally selling to health systems or data providers in life sciences and healthcare.
  • A working understanding of multimodal data (genomic, imaging, clinical, real world data) and how it's used in biopharma R&D.
  • A track record of owning both relationship health and commercial outcomes on an account.
  • Strong listening and diagnostic skills: the ability to quickly and accurately identify a customer's real problem and mobilize the right internal resources to solve it.
  • Experience independently structuring and negotiating contract terms, including partnering with Legal and Finance.
  • Excellent relationship management and executive-level communication skills.
  • The judgment to know what to escalate versus resolve independently.
  • A customer-first mindset with a track record of partnering directly with customers or end users to shape solutions.
  • An advanced degree in life sciences, genomics, or a related scientific/technical field, or comparable experience that earns scientific credibility with PhD-level stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, deeply understanding their business and scientific priorities and translating that understanding into how Manifold delivers value.
  • Own Manifold's relationship with each account in the portfolio, accountable for customer health, satisfaction, retention, and growth.
  • Act as the operational engine of each partnership: running regular business reviews, maintaining real-time shared visibility with customer stakeholders, and building multi-threaded relationships.
  • Proactively identify and capture expansion opportunities across new datasets, new business units, and new use cases.
  • Build and maintain a living account plan for every strategic account, developing a clear growth thesis, expansion whitespace, stakeholder strategy, competitive dynamics, and risk.
  • Structure the commercial terms for renewals and expansions in partnership with Legal and Finance.
  • Own the coordination model and internal rhythm across Manifold's account team for each relationship, working with Product, Professional Services, and Legal.
  • Manage the handoff from Sales at go-live, capturing what was promised and who the real buyer was.
  • Partner with technical teams to understand platform usage for R&D workflows across genomics, digital pathology, and real-world data to spot expansion opportunities.
  • Own portfolio status, relationship health tracking, and be accountable for surfacing risk before it becomes a problem.
