About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the development and execution of large-scale natural gas-fired power generation projects, including simple-cycle combustion turbines and combined-cycle (1×1, 2×1, and 3×1) facilities. This role is responsible for managing all construction-related activities associated with generation assets, including procurement, EPC execution, commissioning, and commercial operation. The ideal candidate is a hands-on project leader with deep expertise in combined-cycle power plant construction, EPC project execution, and utility-scale generation assets. The successful candidate will effectively manage OEMs, EPC contractors, and internal stakeholders while delivering technically complex projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in power generation, energy, or heavy industrial construction projects
  • 7+ years of experience managing large EPC projects valued at $100M+
  • 5+ years of experience managing construction-related projects
  • 3+ years of experience working with pipeline construction contractors
  • 3+ years of experience managing project budgets
  • Experience with gas turbine projects (Frame Units and Aeroderivatives)
  • Experience managing combined-cycle power plant construction projects (1×1 or larger)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proven track record delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and meeting performance guarantees
  • Strong understanding of: Combustion Turbine Generation (CTG) and Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plant design and operation, HRSG systems and thermodynamic cycles, High-voltage systems and grid interconnection, Gas turbine and steam turbine integration, Balance of Plant (BOP) systems, Environmental permitting requirements, Construction scheduling and project controls
  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project management software

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree or MBA
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
  • OSHA 30 Certification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of gas system design and operations, including gas flow, construction, contracts, and emergency response
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction and operating codes
  • Experience with OEM platforms such as Client, Siemens, or Mitsubishi
  • Working knowledge of operations support systems (WMS or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of CTG/CCGT project execution from development through Commercial Operation Date (COD)
  • Manage EPC contractors and OEM partners
  • Establish and maintain project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Ensure alignment with commercial, regulatory, and operational requirements
  • Drive decision-making and issue resolution across multidisciplinary teams
  • Coordinate with project engineering teams and Owner's Engineer
  • Oversee gas turbine and steam turbine specifications and integration
  • Review HRSG design and performance requirements
  • Support Balance of Plant (BOP) systems implementation
  • Manage grid interconnection requirements and environmental permitting compliance
  • Ensure adherence to applicable building and national codes
  • Oversee site construction activities including: Civil works and foundations, Turbine installation and alignment, HRSG erection, Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) installation
  • Monitor contractor productivity, quality, and safety performance
  • Lead construction progress reporting and milestone tracking
  • Coordinate outages and tie-ins for brownfield projects
  • Monitor project schedules and critical path activities
  • Develop and implement recovery plans when required
  • Manage EPC and OEM schedules
  • Review and manage change orders
  • Track contingencies and risk-adjusted forecasts
  • Administer EPC, OEM, and service contracts
  • Manage claims, disputes, and contract negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with performance guarantees including heat rate, output, and availability metrics
  • Support commissioning and startup planning activities
  • Coordinate pre-commissioning and turnover processes
  • Support first fire, synchronization, and performance testing
  • Ensure successful handoff to operations teams
  • Drive achievement of COD and contractual milestones
  • Promote a strong safety culture and zero-incident mindset
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
  • Oversee environmental compliance during construction and startup activities
  • Interface with executive leadership, utility customers, regulatory agencies, and local communities
  • Deliver clear and concise project reports, updates, and executive presentations
  • Lead cross-functional teams across multiple locations
