This position has an initial appointment of 3 years. This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. Work primarily takes place at Enterprise Square. Are you a skilled communicator and experienced project manager with a background—and a genuine interest—in post-secondary online learning? Join us to lead the development of complex, online programs from initial concept to final launch. Online Learning & Continuing Education (OCE) is a central U of A service unit that partners with colleges, faculties, and external partners to develop and deliver online courses, programs, and non-credit micro-credentials. The Online Learning team supports the development and delivery of high-demand online courses and programming, supporting both credit and non-credit programs. The team provides extensive expertise to elevate the quality and accessibility of online programming at the U of A. The Project Manager, Online Learning Projects, is an experienced project leader responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of online course and program development initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this role oversees multiple concurrent projects from initiation through launch and closeout, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, approved scope, timelines, budgets, and OCE quality standards. The Project Manager acts as a central point of coordination and communication across academic stakeholders, internal teams, and external suppliers, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of project, resource, and quality assurance practices for online education at the University of Alberta. The Project Manager can work on concurrent projects involving up to 20+ course builds across multiple academic cycles, from initial development through long-term maintenance, supporting key institutional priorities related to enrollment growth and revenue generation. Some course development projects may have a duration that exceeds 12 months, include several cross-functional teams and diverse partners, internal and external to the university. As such, a high level of influence is required to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to interest-holder expectations. The position is hybrid, which includes 3 days in-person at Enterprise Square (Tues - Thurs) in Edmonton, and Monday & Friday, which can be worked remotely from home.
