About The Position

Rycon Construction is an employee-owned company (ESOP) that provides construction management, general contracting, and design-build services nationwide. An ENR Top 400 Contractor, ENR Top 100 Green Contractor, and BD+C Top 150 Contractor with nine offices, Rycon specializes in new construction, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects. Rycon’s portfolio includes projects in healthcare, higher education, industrial/warehouse, commercial, multi-unit residential, food service/dining, retail, financial, self-storage, governmental, and LEED facilities. We have an in-house Architectural Woodwork & Specialty Fabrication Division that ships/installs nationally. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Mission Critical/Data Centers at our Washington D.C. office.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of construction project management experience, including mission critical/data center projects.
  • Experience managing commercial construction projects valued at $100M+.
  • Strong understanding of data center construction, including MEP systems, power, cooling, and commissioning.
  • Ability to manage projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Proven experience leading owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong communication, organizational, budgeting, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data centers, OSHA 30, and design-build delivery methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of mission critical/data center construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Review project documents, contracts, drawings, and specifications to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety goals.
  • Develop, negotiate, award, and administer subcontracts.
  • Review and prepare subcontractor scopes of work and coordinate trade partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project and other scheduling tools.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain meeting minutes, action items, and project documentation.
  • Assist with budgeting, estimating, and procurement activities.
  • Review, negotiate, and process change orders.
  • Manage submittits, RFIs, cost reports, procurement logs, and project financials.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to drive project success.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact throughout the project.
  • Identify project risks and develop solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Support project commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities.
