Project Manager - Managed IT Services

MIS SolutionsSycamore Township, OH
$60,000 - $80,000Hybrid

About The Position

MIS Solutions is a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) providing managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, backup and disaster recovery, communications, and strategic technology consulting to businesses and organizations throughout the region. We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and results-driven Project Manager to oversee client technology projects from kickoff through successful completion. This is a hands-on project management role for someone who is comfortable managing multiple projects, coordinating technical resources, maintaining timelines, communicating with clients, and holding people accountable to deadlines.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of project management experience; MSP, IT services, or technology experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, cloud services, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, hardware, and/or other technology solutions.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with technical teams and non-technical clients.
  • Ability to hold team members, vendors, and stakeholders accountable to deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with project management or PSA platforms preferred.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, CAPM, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or other recognized project management certification). Candidates without a certification may be considered based on relevant experience and may be expected to obtain certification within an agreed-upon timeframe.
  • The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, persistent, and results-oriented. They naturally create structure, manage competing priorities, communicate clearly, and are not afraid to follow up when something isn't getting done.
  • They should be technical enough to understand IT projects and communicate effectively with engineers, while being focused primarily on project execution rather than performing technical work themselves.
  • This person should be diplomatic but persistent-able to build strong relationships with technical teams, vendors, and clients while still pushing projects forward and holding people accountable.
  • Most importantly, we are looking for someone who takes ownership and makes sure projects actually get across the finish line.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of projects from initial planning through completion.
  • Help establish realistic project timelines, scope, resource requirements, and client expectations before commitments are made to the customer.
  • Perform initial scoping of new locations, particularly for clients moving offices or opening new locations.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, milestones, tasks, and deadlines.
  • Ensure all required information, documentation, equipment, licensing, credentials, and other dependencies are collected before work begins.
  • Coordinate technical resources, vendors, and project dependencies.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, delays, and roadblocks.
  • Follow up with team members, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure commitments and deadlines are met.
  • Escalate resource or timeline issues when necessary.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
  • Own all project-related communication with the client's primary point of contact (POC).
  • Provide proactive and timely project updates throughout the project.
  • Coordinate project kickoff meetings and ensure scope, expectations, responsibilities, and timelines are clearly understood.
  • Work with outgoing and incoming IT providers during client onboardings and offboardings.
  • Collect required credentials, documentation, vendor information, network information, and other necessary information during transitions.
  • Partner closely with the vCIO to address scope changes, client concerns, and additional project opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Systems Administration and Support Team Leads to schedule and coordinate technical resources.
  • Coordinate with the CTO when projects require specialized technical resources or oversight.
  • Ensure technical team members understand project responsibilities, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Monitor project hours and identify projects trending over estimated hours or scope.
  • Help ensure project work is properly prioritized alongside support and managed services responsibilities.
  • Own all project documentation from project initiation through completion.
  • Ensure project information, decisions, configurations, credentials, deliverables, and other required documentation are properly captured and stored.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing project processes.
  • Develop and implement processes that improve project consistency, efficiency, communication, and accountability.
  • Help establish and maintain standardized project management procedures.
  • Confirm all project deliverables have been completed.
  • Ensure documentation, tickets, and project tasks are completed.
  • Coordinate final client acceptance and handoff to the vCIO and support teams.
  • Lead project completion meetings with the CSO, vCIOs, COO, Team Leads, CTO, and appropriate support/technical team members.
  • Participate in a weekly project review with the CSO, vCIOs, COO, Team Leads, and CTO to review project progress and upcoming milestones, projects at risk or behind schedule, resource constraints, budget/hour concerns, client or vendor issues, required leadership decisions, and completed projects.
  • Identify and address potential issues before they result in missed deadlines.
