About The Position

This role is responsible for leading complex nuclear maintenance, outage, and capital projects in a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive project management experience within commercial nuclear operations, maintenance, construction, or engineering environments. This is a 12-month contract position located in Richland, WA.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management practices within commercial nuclear power or similarly regulated industrial environments.
  • Experience managing online work, refueling outages, and forced outage activities.
  • Strong understanding of human performance improvement and error reduction methodologies.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, contracts, and risk assessments.
  • Advanced computer proficiency and project scheduling experience.
  • Knowledge of technical specifications, industry codes, and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum five years of nuclear industry project management experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting commercial nuclear system replacements/upgrades highly desired.
  • Previous supervisory, outage coordination, or production work management experience preferred.
  • RO/SRO certification and Construction Management Certification are considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multidisciplinary nuclear projects and programs typically valued under $10M.
  • Lead project activities for refueling outages, forced outages, and online work execution.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risk mitigation plans, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate engineering, maintenance, operations, construction, and vendor activities to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
  • Oversee work package preparation, procurement activities, ALARA planning, industrial and nuclear safety compliance, and outage coordination.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve schedule conflicts, and manage critical path activities.
  • Interface with project controls, finance, contractors, vendors, and senior leadership.
  • Prepare and deliver project reports, presentations, and status updates.
  • Mentor junior project managers and support continuous improvement initiatives.
